Increase in Tourists to Morocco |

A total of 4.2 million tourists visited Morocco during the first half of 2011, a rise of 6.3 per cent compared with the same period last year, according to the Tourism Ministry.

The massive tourist/residential development program, Vision 2010 – of which the coastal part came to be known as “Plan Azur” – whose aim was to bring 10 million visitors a year to Morocco by 2010 and included the building of 6 new coastal resorts, 250,000 hotel beds, including 180,000 properties located in or around the cities.

'I don't think we're in Kansas any more," says Sarah Jessica Parker as she strolls into some luxurious Arabian hotel wearing what appears to be a table cloth and a tea cosy. She's not in Kansas, or New York. As everyone who's seen the Sex And The City 2 trailer knows, the "city" this time is Abu Dhabi, where Carrie and her sisters take a decadent desert mini-break. Except they're not really in Abu Dhabi either, they're actually in Morocco.

Timitar Free Music Festival, Morocco |

The Timitar free music festival in Agadir was set in two different locations and ran from 7th to the 10th of July 2010.
It was a music and dance extravaganza and attracted over 500,000 spectators. Over 50 bands and artists from all over the world entertained the crowds. These included Ali Cambell (left) from the band UB40, and also Bob Marley's son Julian.
Each day started at 7:30pm and went on until two or three in the morning.
Agadir was awash with music and dance. An amazing event! |

A New Motorway is Under Construction to improve links to Marrakech
Construction
Work is divided in several main sections, each with their own contractors and workers. Construction of a 4-lane motorway through the mountains of the High Atlas requires much structures as fly-overs, viaducts and bridges. The existing national road (route nationale) is used for transport of building material etc. Along this route new exits and side roads are constructed to several main working locations and temporary factories (concrete, storage, camp-sites for builders, etc).
